What arises if you mix a Native American
Indian, a Czech beauty, a Huchole medicine
woman and a strict Catholic with a very
Mexican spirit?
SITA THOMPSON!
And what is most amazing is that in the
above heady cocktail there is a very strong
Indian soul. The soul with a lot of chutzpah!
Sita Thompson lives in Mumbai
and is actively involved in theatre; cinema
and one could safely say any form of art.
She has danced the Pain of Trauma to a
reading by Alyque Padmasee depicting the
carnage at Gujarat, and is currently in
pre- production for Padmasee‘s Indianized
rendition of Carmen. She has finished
one film, with three on the way.
The honorable former Prime Minister of
India, P. V. Narsima Rao, presented Sita
with the NATIONAL CITIZEN'S OVERSEAS
AWARD in 2002 for being American by
birth, but Indian by heart and values
– a role model for society. This award
is given to individuals who promote Indo-American
relations.
Sita is also actively involved in social
service by serving on the Advisory Board
of Love Humanity India – an organization
that places orphaned children in loving
family homes.
She is currently in Los Angeles to launch
her line Sita Style, which is a line of
womens clothing made from sari and eastern
fabrics but in western classic cuts.
